Liberate Your Art Part II
Posted on April 17, 2015
My letter box has kept on feeling the love lately, especially with the Liberate Your Art postcard swap. I am still waiting on a couple of cards, including the final card from the swaps organiser, Kat Sloma, so it’s a nice anticipation when I hear the postie come by.
Here is the Bluebird of Happiness from artist Danie May, making friends with 2 of my favourite vases. You can see some more of Danie May’s art at http://www.d-dazzledscraps.com and http://www.unrulypaperart.com
I received a postcard from a far away Wisconsin Autumn from Lisa Schwinghammer. It is now nestled amongst candles, paperweights and books here in Geelong.
Then there was an sultry sunset from Tennessee, which is now sailing with my art deco ship vase. Unfortunately, the U.S. or Australian postal services have stamped black ink over the wordpress address of this artist, so I can’t link to them.
I had a birthday too, so there were a few little treats. Nothing like the sweetly evocative scent of soap from Broome to send me back to the pristine sands of Eco Beach in 1999, or the startling gorgeous colour palette and born for poetry landscapes of that town, but that’s another story and another dream.
What has been landing in your letter box? Send me an email at sandhasnohome at gmail dot com with your address if you would like a letter from me. Are you engaged in any snail mail projects at the moment? You could write a letter to Pip Lincolne from Meet Me at Mike’s, and join up with her in writing 52 Hellos!
Have you ever been to Broome? Did it get into your soul?
