On the weekend, I decided to take some me time (something that I have done about 3 times in 3 years) to go to the cinema alone to see the newly released adaption of Far from the Madding Crowd (WARNING:  Some spoilers ahead). I’m not averse to a bit of period drama, and I have a particular liking for the Thomas Hardy book of the same name that the film is based on.  I won a copy of that book for my top of the class marks for Literature in year 12, and it was the book that I was reading when my father and brother died soon after.
